American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Established in 1987, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death.

AFSP is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide, including those who have experienced a loss.  AFSP creates a culture that’s smart about mental health by funding scientific research, educating the public about mental health and suicide prevention, advocating for public policies in mental health and suicide prevention, and supporting survivors of suicide loss and those affected by suicide.

SAV Fast Track Division Leader Eric Bowman, along with several more members the SAV team, showed up again this year to raise money for and support AFSP’s annual fundraiser walk/run. Eric is on the left, in the white T-shirt and sunglasses.

”I want to thank all of you who walked and/or supported this team! Without the help from SAV and it’s amazing employees we wouldn’t have been able to raise an amazing amount of funds. This year we were able to raise a crazy $6,184! We placed number one for the second year in a row with the second-place team coming in at $5,897. In total the walk raised $41,173 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (Pretty Crazy for a small town in Montana) and we are grateful to all that made that possible.” - Eric Bowman
