Cedar Burrow

Recognized for Excellence. Crafted for the Architecture.

Nestled within the Montana mountains, Cedar Burrow is a retreat where technology was designed to complement the architecture rather than compete with it. The project earned both a 2023 Lutron Excellence Award for Best Palladiom, Sivoia QS or Triathlon Shading Project and CE Pro Home of the Year Silver for Best Smart Home Project, recognizing the thoughtful integration behind the finished home.

Working alongside Reid Smith Architects, Big Sky Build, and WRJ Design, SAV approached the home with a shared goal: preserve the integrity of the architecture while delivering the comfort and functionality expected from a sophisticated mountain residence. That collaboration is especially evident in the home's Lutron motorized shades, which were meticulously integrated into custom wood beams and metal valances to virtually disappear when not in use.

The result is technology that feels like a natural extension of the home rather than an addition to it. Careful planning, precise measurements, and close coordination between trades allowed sophisticated systems to remain discreet, leaving the materials, views, and architecture to define the experience.
