CONNECTIVITY, BUILT IN
The Foundation Behind Everything
Nearly every technology system in a connected environment depends on its infrastructure. Lighting, audio and video, security, automation, streaming, communications, and countless connected devices all rely on a network and physical foundation designed to support them.
SAV designs and installs business-grade networks and comprehensive technology infrastructure for private residences, hospitality properties, and commercial spaces. From structured prewiring and fiber to enterprise-grade networking, wireless access points, equipment racks, and system testing, we build the foundation that allows technology to perform reliably today—and adapt for what comes next.
NETWORK + WI-FI
Business-Grade. Home-Wide.
A high-performance residence places extraordinary demands on its network. Streaming, video conferencing, surveillance, automation, audio distribution, and dozens—or hundreds—of connected devices often operate simultaneously.
SAV designs business-grade residential networks using professional routers, managed switches, strategically positioned wireless access points, and hardwired connections where they deliver the greatest performance. Engineered heat maps help determine optimal equipment placement and Wi-Fi coverage, while on-site signal testing verifies performance after installation.
From interior spaces and outdoor living areas to guest residences and other connected structures, every network is designed around the property's architecture, construction, and connectivity requirements.
The result isn't simply faster Wi-Fi. It's a network engineered for coverage, capacity, stability, security, and reliability throughout the property.
INFRASTRUCTURE + PREWIRE
What You Don’t See Matters
Some of the most important work SAV does will eventually disappear behind drywall.
During construction, we design and install the structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure required for the home's technology systems. Depending on the scope, that can include wiring for networking and wireless access points, audio and video, surveillance and security, motorized shading, control systems, sensors, future technologies, and other integrated systems.
When SAV is responsible for architectural lighting design—not solely lighting control—our coordination can extend into the lighting infrastructure as well, helping ensure fixtures, drivers, controls, wiring, and related components are considered as part of the complete system.
Working alongside architects, builders, designers, electricians, and other project partners, we coordinate pathways, equipment locations, power requirements, and architectural details before the walls close.
Every cable has a purpose. Every pathway is planned. What you don't see is the foundation for everything you do.
ENGINEERING + EQUIPMENT
Built Behind the Scenes
At the center of a sophisticated technology system is something most homeowners rarely see: the equipment rack.
SAV designs and builds organized equipment environments that bring networking, audio/video distribution, control processors, power management, and other centralized technology together in a carefully engineered system. Components are laid out with serviceability, ventilation, cable management, reliability, and future access in mind.
Whenever possible, systems can be assembled, configured, programmed, and tested before arriving at the residence, reducing time on site and helping identify issues before final commissioning. SAV's Build & Test Center was specifically created around this approach—building and testing systems prior to deployment to improve consistency and reliability.
The craftsmanship behind the walls and inside the rack matters just as much as the experience you see when the system is finished.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Networking & Infrastructure FAQs
-
No. Your internet service provider delivers the internet connection to the property. SAV designs and installs the networking equipment and infrastructure that distributes that connection reliably throughout the home, including routers, managed switches, hardwired network connections, wireless access points, and other network components.
-
A business-grade residential network applies professional networking equipment and design principles to the home. Rather than relying on a single consumer router or a collection of wireless extenders, the network is engineered around coverage, capacity, connected devices, physical construction, and the demands placed on it. This becomes particularly important in large residences and highly connected smart homes. SAV has deployed enterprise-grade networking specifically to handle heavy simultaneous AV, automation, internet, and device traffic in luxury residences.
-
Wireless access points create Wi-Fi coverage throughout a property by connecting back to the home's wired network. Rather than expecting one router to cover an entire residence, multiple professionally located WAPs can provide more consistent coverage across interior spaces, outdoor living areas, guest houses, and other structures.
-
The scope depends on the systems SAV is designing for the project. Prewiring may include infrastructure for networking, wireless access points, audio/video, security and surveillance, motorized shades, automation and control, sensors, and other low-voltage technologies. When SAV provides architectural lighting design, our infrastructure coordination can also extend into the lighting system. SAV's production capabilities include structured cabling as well as AV, lighting, and shading implementation.
-
A professionally designed equipment rack provides an organized, serviceable environment for centralized technology. Proper equipment placement, cable management, ventilation, power, labeling, and accessibility can improve reliability while making systems easier to troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade over time.
Built for What Comes Next
Technology will change. The infrastructure behind it shouldn't become obsolete every time it does.
Whether you're planning a new residence, renovating an existing home, improving unreliable Wi-Fi, or creating the foundation for a sophisticated integrated system, SAV designs networks and infrastructure around how the property needs to perform today while considering what may come next.
