Preserving History. Embracing What’s Next.
Built in 1881 by Bozeman founder Daniel E. Rouse, the Rouse House is one of the city’s earliest brick residences and the last architecturally significant structure associated with its founders still standing. Its transformation earned Gold for Best Before / After Retrofit Project and Silver for Best Combo Design + Tech Project in the 2025 CE Pro Home of the Year Awards.
Working alongside Dan and Jodi Corbeille of Velocity Development, SAV helped bring modern functionality into the historic Gothic I-House while preserving the character that makes it significant. Integrating new wiring and technology into fragile 19th-century brick required careful engineering, coordination, and creative solutions throughout the restoration.
Hidden speakers, recessed lighting, concealed TV mounting and thoughtfully planned infrastructure bring contemporary comfort and entertainment into the residence without overwhelming its original architecture. The result bridges two very different eras—preserving a piece of Bozeman history while creating a home designed to be lived in today.
